Background
Zay set out to reimagine how brands gather insights from Gen Z by creating a fast, fun, swipe-based feedback loop. The platform needed to feel native to the generation which means quick reactions, playful visuals, streaks, badges, and a wallet that transforms opinions into real earnings. On the brand side, Zay required a clear, guided portal for launching “drops,” targeting audiences, setting reward budgets, and viewing insights in real time. The goal was to bring together a Gen Z–friendly user app and a clean SaaS portal into one connected system that could demonstrate an end-to-end loop from drop creation to user reaction.
Challenges
The platform had to balance two distinct journeys: a highly gamified consumer experience and a structured, professional brand interface. For users, the feed needed to feel fast and addictive with swipeable cards, emoji reactions, instant coin rewards, and a wallet that anchors streaks, community, and cash-out options. The cash-out flow also required clarity and trust while remaining lightweight enough for MVP. For brands, the challenge was designing a simple campaign wizard, targeting filters, and visual insight summaries that updated as users reacted. Coordinating both sides into a seamless demonstration path. Creating a drop, showing it in the app, capturing a reaction, and surface insights was essential.
Outcome
The final MVP provides a complete loop that showcases Zay’s value to both users and brands. Gen Z users can onboard, swipe through drops, earn coins, track streaks, and explore a wallet that makes rewards feel tangible. Brands can launch drops through a guided creation flow and view real-time reactions, sentiment summaries, and demographic insights in a clean dashboard. The wallet includes a motivating cash-out journey with PayPal or gift-card options, supported by a simple backend process for early payouts. Together, these pieces create a cohesive, engaging system that validates Zay’s core thesis: Gen Z opinions have currency, and Zay turns them into action.
